Last Minute Trip Ideas

for the second half of the summer holidays

Es gibt viel zu tun!

July will soon be over and the summer vacations in NRW are already drawing to a close. If you want to make the most of the last few weeks of the holidays, here are a few tips for exciting things to do with the whole family!

The Green Zoo of Wuppertal

Our Wuppertal Zoo is one of the most beautiful and varied zoos in Germany. With the Kombi-Ticket Zoo you can combine two highlights at once: the Wuppertal suspension railroad and the Wuppertal Zoo. You can find more information here and here.

By the way: as a WSW subscription customer, you get reduced admission to the zoo and also a free guided tour on Wednesday, August 3 starting at 3 p.m.!

Discover NRW

With the 9-Euro-Ticket or a WSW-Abo, Germany is open to you! But you don't have to travel that far to do great things.

Hikers can get their money's worth in NRW. Whether it's the Ruhr Valley Hiking Trail, BaldeneySteig or Red Wine Hiking Trail - there's a route for everyone! And with over 100 routes to choose from, you won't get bored either.

Ideas for interesting excursions with the whole family can be found here. Have you ever been to the horse museum or to Drachenburg Castle? With the 9-euro ticket, interesting day trips are closer than ever.

You can find a brochure on "Discovering NRW" here!

Nordbahntrasse

Another Wuppertal highlight is the Nordbahntrasse. This is especially easy to reach with the suspension railroad, just get off at the Alter Markt or Oberbarmen Bahnhof stations. From there, the route is easy to reach on foot. Whether walking, jogging, cycling or skating - the Nordahntrasse is suitable for sports activities of all kinds!

Circus Jonny Casselly

This summer, the participatory circus Jonny Casselly has made a stop in Wuppertal. There, the little ones can get a whiff of circus air and get actively involved in the program. The gala performance always takes place on Saturdays.
