All Wuppertal residents are invited to celebrate the 125th anniversary of the Wuppertal Suspension Railway with a large family festival
The festival will take place around Wuppertal Central Station on Saturday, 19 September 2026, from 12:00 pm to 6:00 pm. Organised by Wuppertal Marketing GmbH (WMG) and Wuppertaler Stadtwerke (WSW), the event will feature interactive activities, live entertainment and a variety of food and drink options for visitors of all ages.
One of the highlights of the festival is the exhibition "125 Suspension Railway Stories", showcasing personal memories and experiences shared by Wuppertal residents. The exhibition illustrates the important role the Suspension Railway has played in the lives of local people and the city's history for generations.
The celebration is supported by numerous local organisations and companies, including the Junior Uni Wuppertal, the Schwebodrom and the Wuppertal Fire Department.
