The new Suspension Railway Special Edition Model
WDR's "Show with the Mouse" has been around for 50 years! During this long broadcasting time, in which more than 2200 episodes were produced, the mouse has experienced a lot and has been a guest at the WSW several times. Here she not only filmed a segment about the vehicle workshop, but also regularly gave children from all over Germany a look behind the scenes of the suspension railway at the "mouse door opener day".
To celebrate the 50th birthday of the Mouse on March 7th, 2021, the WSW had come up with something special: the suspension railway car 1428 would float through Wuppertal for one year as the official Mouse-Car. No sooner said than done and so car 1428, as well as the Loher Brücke/Junior Uni and Zoo/Stadion stations, were covered with mouse motifs.
On February 12, the time had finally come: the mouse and her friend, the little blue elephant, came to Wuppertal for the inauguration of the new suspension railway car. The maiden voyage was of course accompanied by cameras from WDR, the video can be found here.
In order to preserve this unique event permanently, the WSW, together with the model building specialist Herpa, published the suspension railway special model "50 years of Show with the Mouse".
